A "Seeing Together – Find the Many Faces of Changsha" exhibition opened at the multifunctional hall of the Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall on August 12. This exhibition is held to display Changsha"s urban design and its implementations, as well as highlight public participation. It is open to the public free of charge until September 10.

The exhibition consists of three parts: "Watch the Sunrise and Sunset"; "Go On a Night Outing"; and, "Go For an Outing". More than 100 pictures from distinctive views are on display to present Changsha"s natural and cultural landscapes. This exhibition also incorporates various forms of public engagement, such as photo collection and interactive activities. It invites the public to contribute their Changsha photos for display, encourages them to collectively create a "Sunrise and Sunset Route Map," and sets up a Mapping map to showcase and gather different perspectives of Changsha"s landscapes and public suggestions, bridging the gap between public participation and urban planning and design.

The exhibition organizer has held "Citywalk in Changsha" serial activities in the past year. Seventy citywalk promoters, more than 150 walkers, and over 500 photographers, artists, natural educators, and historians from all walks of life joined, and shared their views and feelings about Changsha. A large number of photos and public opinions were collected to create three themed brochures and videos.[gf]2002[/gf]

The exhibition was hosted by the Changsha Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, and organized by the Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall and the School of Architecture and Planning of Hunan University. It aims to encourage people to observe the city from different perspectives, explore the city"s new and unique aspects, and have a better understanding of urban design and landscapes. By harnessing the collective intelligence of individuals, the exhibition seeks to contribute to the enhancement of the city"s urban design.
